Berliner - between Moskau+Rio

The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer), known in the Soviet Union and in the German Democratic Republic as the "Anti-Fascist Protective Rampart," was a separation barrier between West Berlin and East Germany (the German Democratic Republic), which closed the border between East and West Berlin for 28 years. On November 9, 1989, the government announced that crossing of the border would be permitted. Hartmut Otto, the author of this site, went back to his hometown Berlin, where he growed up and studied, from long trips to Brasil and Frankfurt. He has, as one of the first "free capitalistic businessmen" access to the russian secret "weapons" because he sold a lot of PC´s to them, used in the receipt of the data from the tripulated space station MIR passing in the orbit in 300 km altitude at a frequence of 90 minutes around the world (inclusive Brasil)!

Project for remote sensing in Brasil from the tripulated space station MIR
In Germany was closed in the year 1989 the contact over Mr. Dr. Arne Richter, from the Max-Planck-Institute - EGU - Copernicus.org - in Katlenburg-Lindau (considered the "Werner von Braun" of the Russian site), to the russian official in the space travel and astronautics Dr. Sergejev the Director of the and Mr. Balibanov - trainer of the Kosmonauts. We delivered Computer from Germany to them and had met us serveral times in Germany and Moskau.

The camera complex on MIR
The installation of 5 cameras in the new module "Quant 2". gave the chance to offer the images to the Brasilian institute INPE on their simposium in Manaus in June 1990. So Hartmut Otto became the representant for Latin America from EUROCOSMOS Consulting & Technologie GmbH.

Earth observation tasks have to be fitted in dependent on pointing of the Mir station but they do have the advantage of not requiring significant
electrical power (unlike the materials processing furnaces!) - unless you count power to operate the attitude control gyrodynes.

The Russians make a point that the crew on Mir are very useful - especially when searching for targets that have ill-defined locations.
